And, as it turns out, a bullet wound is even more uncomfortable than I had imagined. Torture is roaring through my right arm and making it difficult for me to focus. I have to squeeze my eyes shut, grit my teeth, and force myself to pay attention. The chaos is unbearable. Several people are shouting and too many of them are touching me, and I want their hands surgically removed. The realization exhausts me.

It may not have been the most intelligent thing to do, but, in my defence, novellas are not my favorite types of reads and I prefer to leave them be, so they dont risk ruining characters orsome scenes for me.
Like it happened somehow with Roar and Liv This was good though. Like it happened somehow with Roar and Liv … This was good though. Not perfect, but good enough. After finishing book 3, I needed more. I needed Warner Warner Warner. See, this author is wearing off on me…. But also a lot of Juliette. Which I did not want. Of course, I was ready to hear him explicitly tell us about how much he misses her and wants to find her again, but not to actually read bits of her notebook!
I thought this was supposed to focus on Warner. The writing is great, as always, and giving us the possibility to easily enter into the story and comprehend the characters. However, I found Warner to be a little cheap. Because he did keep some things secret. Which I found frustrating. For instance: My research had led me to her files by pure accident. I did not seek her out in search of a weapon; I never had. For something else. My motives were my own. Care to maybe share these motives in question with us?
I know the actual answer to what he wanted with Juliette after all, since I indeed read the third book in which it is explained, but I think this is being very evasive and not really honest with us. Would I have been a reader who had just finished book 1 and craved for the second one, I think I would have liked to know what those motives are. Only for that fact alone, I would recommend reading this. Also, I quickly realized that the novella does make this former — or not — depending antihero, with every new chapter, endearing to us.
It simply is impossible to still look at him and see a cold hearted and sadistic person after reading this. Truth be told, I will never forget him.
